Customer Service Specialist

As a Customer Service Specialist in our Healthy Living Department, you'll provide a well-stocked and well-maintained department while providing superior customer service. Key responsibilities include providing superior customer service, answering customer questions regarding products and assisting them with selections; helping customers locate store merchandise, merchandising product effectively, using suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales, preparing work schedules for department, providing work direction and training to department partners. In terms of stocking, you will stock and rotate items as needed, assist with inventory control, load, unload, and move product, organize, clean, and prepare back area for the night crew and incoming trucks, organize merchandise on pallets to make the department presentable to the public, ensure integrity of shelf tags and signage in department, create and prepare signage as needed, maintain standards in shrink, safety, inventory control, and sanitation, check shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality of products, build, stock, maintain, and take down store displays.

Qualifications and key requirements include being 18+ years of age, having 1+ years of experience preferred, knowledge of natural foods, vitamins, minerals, macrobiotics, herbs, sports nutrition, organics, homeopathy, and aromatherapy required, strong customer service and interpersonal skills required, strong verbal/written communication skills required, strong time-management, planning, and organization skills required, strong merchandising and selling skills required, leadership skills required, ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment required, ability to train partners required, HS diploma or GED required, completion of Basics of Safety training required. Physical demands include functioning in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks, handling customer complaints in a professional, courteous manner, constantly reaching at waist, grasping, frequently standing, walking, occasionally reaching at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, stair climbing, pivoting, twisting, pushing/pulling with arms, pinching, performing fine motor movements, occasionally being exposed to loud noises, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions, demonstrating the ability to lift 15 lbs, and manage in excess of 15 lbs.
