What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a homeland security contractor?

To thrive as a Homeland Security Contractor, you need expertise in security protocols, risk assessment, and often a relevant degree or security clearance. Familiarity with cybersecurity tools, surveillance systems, and federal compliance standards such as FISMA or NIST is usually required. Job description

Job Number: R0246732
Domain Analyst
The Opportunity:

As an expert in defense missions, your unique background inspires you to think bigger, push further, and ask questions others don't. We need your extensive mission experience and advisory skills to solve some of our clients' most complex operational, technical, and strategic challenges and deliver solutions that keep our nation safe.

As a Defense Mission Expert, you'll bring your leadership, operational planning, Joint Force, DOTMLPF, MDMP, JCIDS, and Combatant Command expertise to work alongside thought leaders in cyber, digital modernization, engineering, science, software development, analytics, and multi-domain operations. You'll apply this expertise on projects spanning homeland defense, foreign threat analysis, mission assurance, vulnerability assessments, C4 architecture, and mission system modernization across multiple services and Combatant Commands.

You'll use your skills to research, develop, analyze, assess, plan, and support mission-critical work that strengthens operational readiness and mission assurance. This includes assessing mapping key cyber terrain, building and analyzing client mission threads, evaluating vulnerability assessment results, and coordinating across internal and external partners to gather artifacts, validate information, and document findings. You will develop, test, and refine analytic processes, define repeatable methodologies, and build mission assurance tools including updates to Domain Cyber-mission assurance portals to better integrate data, identify shortfalls, and enhance risk-based decision-making.

Work with us to solve, identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and instrumentation related to foreign threats, homeland security, Joint Force operations, and evolving mission environments. Your ability to brief various defense audiences, including senior military, civilian, and contractor stakeholders, will help ensure shared understanding, drive alignment, and accelerate mission outcomes.

You served your country in uniform, and now you can continue that mission with us. Further your career while creating mission-forward solutions that matter and shape the future of joint operations, mission assurance, and national defense.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • Experience in warfighting mission domains such as homeland defense or civil support

  • Experience with operational mission planning, plan assessment, mission thread development, Joint Force missions, processes, and organizational culture

  • Experience delivering solutions aligned with Joint Staff, Combatant Command, defense agency, and binational operational priorities

  • Experience applying structured, repeatable, and verifiable analytic methods to assess Joint Force, defense agency, binational, and Combatant Command missions

  • Experience working within a Maritime Operations Center (MOC), Air Operations Center (AOC), or service component headquarters

  • Ability to brief various defense audiences, including senior military, civilian, and contractor stakeholders

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Completion of USN Naval Command & Staff school

  • DoDM 8140.03 Certification such as Security+ Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience solving issues across DOTMLPF areas, including doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership, personnel, facilities, or resources

  • Experience with tools and platforms such as Maven, MADSS, and DRRS

  • Experience with multidomain systems and environments

  • Experience with DoW Artificial Intelligence models used to support analytic research

  • Experience in Joint or Servicelevel Exercise Planning

  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite including Confluence and Jira, Test & Evaluation, or the Acquisition and Development Lifecycle

  • Knowledge of nonJoint Force clients, Joint Force, defense agency, or Combatant Command missions

  • Master's degree in Homeland Security

  • Graduate of the Navy's Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS)

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
