We are seeking a motivated Construction Inspector who has experience overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects from start to finish.  The project location for this role is in the Akron/Cleveland area. Relevant experience would include technical construction projects, including water/wastewater treatment facilities, sanitary and storm sewers, waterlines, asphalt, and concrete.

What You'll Do:

As the Construction Inspector, you will perform the following duties:

  • Performing Resident Representative duties, including full-time on-site inspection for both short-term and long-term assignments.
  • Assist in administering the terms of the construction contract, including processing submittals and managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and schedules.
  • Documenting construction progress in accordance with the contract specifications, including detailed field reports and logs of RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, including permits, specifications, and contractor pay requests.
  • Acting as a liaison between contractors, design professionals, and clients, ensuring clear communication and resolution of issues as they arise.
Coordinating with regulatory agencies, consultants, and clients to secure necessary approvals and permits.
What You'll Bring:
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
  • Familiarity with basic construction processes including the ability to read and interpret project plans, contract specifications, apply mathematical formulas and engineering principals
  • Experience with State and Municipal construction and materials specifications
  • Experience in commercial, public works, or roadway projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team including leadership qualities to motivate and inspire others
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Goal oriented with a can-do attitude
  • Must be an exceptional communicator both written and verbal
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products

Educational Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Engineering Technology
  • ODOT, APWA, or NICET Certifications, or equivalent, are preferred.
