Bomberger's Store - Full Time Hardware Supervisor Needed!

Bomberger's Store, a trusted family-owned home improvement retailer in Lititz, is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Supervisor to join our dynamic team. Summary: 

Provides support to Hardware Leadership and employees by performing the following duties: 

Supervisory Responsibilities:   

• Supervise assigned employees by administering reviews and assisting in hiring and disciplining. 
• Participates as part of Hardware Leadership Team to collaborate on division issues, direction, and goals. 
• Works with Leadership team to develop, coach, and train assigned employees for successful job performance. 
• Directs staff and assigns work in the operational processes of the division. 
• Acts as a resource to the sales staff; assists salespeople in the timely resolution of customer complaints, computer problems, and system/procedural problems. 
• Supports the division and operations manager in the implementation of procedure changes. 
• Assists with managing promotions within the division. Performs or delegates activities to ensure promotions are ordered, up and running. 
• Works with division and operations manager to implement Discovery or other Ace Hardware programs. 
• Assists with managing seasonal transitions within the division. Works with the division and operations manager to create a plan; assigns staff and directs their activities; makes certain set-up duties are covered. 
• Ensures all areas are fronted, clean, and presentable.  Will also be responsible for merchandising these areas of responsibility 
• Assists the RAM team to solve inventory and stocking problems to make sure product is available and shelves are stocked. 
• Contributes to coordinating the introduction and placement of new products into assigned departments; communicates changes to employees. 
• May be required to represent Bomberger's store and/or the Hardware division on in/out of store committees and groups with occasional travel to trade shows. 
• Act as a principal point of contact between Bomberger's and vendors as directed. 
• Aids in the execution and fulfillment of acehardware.com orders and future online selling opportunities. 
• Reflect the store's culture in leadership to fellow employees and customers. 

Hardware Sales Duties and Responsibilities 

• Provides service to customers in the division. Actively listens and asks questions to evaluate customers' needs and finds the product or solutions to meet those needs. 
• Orders merchandise for the assigned departments. Identifies trends and requests from customers for new merchandise that can be added to the department. 
• Works with other associates to ensure coverage in all areas of the division. 
• Maintains full knowledge of the layout of the division and can easily locate product. Maintains a working knowledge of the entire division. 
• Answers phones for the division. 
• Trained in checkout procedures and assists as needed 
• Enters special orders in the computer system 
• Fills propane tanks for customers upon request. 
• Assists in loading customers vehicles 
• Uses a key cutting machine to make duplicate keys for customers upon request. Re-keys locks as requested. 
• Cuts single and double strength glass, screens, tubing, chains and plastic pipe for customers upon request. 
• Sharpens knives on sharpener machine 
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:   

Directly supervises a total of approximately 4-10 full-time and part-time hardware employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Qualifications  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required. 

Education and Experience 

Associate degree; or three to five years of experience or training, including experience in supervisory or leadership positions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience (Hardware Supervisory Experience a plus!)
• Ability to work an evening and Saturday rotation
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Be at least 18 years old
