About Our Family

We are a busy, professional family with two children and two dogs, navigating the demands of work, school, and daily life. Mom works from home while balancing her grad school schedule while also managing many moving parts throughout the day at home. Dad has a demanding position outside the home that includes some travel, which always adds another layer of complication to the household logistics.

Our goal in hiring a house manager is to clear some mental space and reduce the constant stress of managing day-to-day logistics. We want to create a more intentional, organized home environment that allows us to enjoy time together as a family, rather than feeling bogged down by the daily chores and responsibilities. We value a clean and well-organized home, but also believe in the importance of flexibility and being able to enjoy spontaneous moments together.

As a family, we prioritize building autonomy and responsibility with our kids while ensuring they feel supported and engaged. We're looking for someone who can help us maintain the balance of structure, order, and enjoyment in our home, while also being a positive presence for our curious kids. The role is about freeing up space for us to focus on each other and creating a long-term partnership with someone who is truly invested in the smooth running of our home.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

We are seeking an organized, proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and can anticipate needs while solving problems independently. You will take pride in keeping our home clean, organized, and running smoothly, while maintaining the flexibility to step in and handle tasks as they arise. You should be able to assess the rhythms of the household, intuitively knowing what needs to be done each day without needing close direction. A key part of this role is being able to "read the room," understanding when the mom needs support and when it's best to give space, particularly while she balances working from home with her grad school commitments.

You'll enjoy engaging with our kids and being a positive presence in their lives-whether it's chatting with them about their day or helping them feel heard. We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time with children and can create a friendly, supportive atmosphere. You are someone who can go with the flow and won't mind having awareness of our kids and neighborhood friends who pop over to play, especially during the summer months. This is not a direct childcare role, but because we do have a pool and require adult supervision there at all times, we may ask you to provide that oversight during the summer months. You should also feel comfortable working in an environment with dogs, enjoying their presence, and providing them with attention when needed.

We value open communication, initiative, and someone who is confident in managing household tasks independently while respecting the family's routines. If you're someone who thrives in a busy, ever-changing environment and is looking to grow with a family that values long-term relationships, we would love to hear from you.
