Job description

North Georgia Civil Inc./NGC General Contractors

Commercial Construction Project Manager

Location: Danielsville, GA (Athens-area office). Travel throughout the United States is required based on assigned projects. Travel frequency varies by project and may include extended stays at project locations.

Lead High-Impact Commercial Projects Nationwide

North Georgia Civil Inc., also known as NGC General Contractors, is a rapidly growing commercial and civil contractor headquartered in Danielsville, GA. The company specializes in commercial, government, civil, telecom, utility, and infrastructure-related construction projects across the United States. With a strong reputation for quality, accountability, and communication, NGC is looking for experienced leaders who can help drive complex projects from planning through closeout.

NGC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects, including remodels, federal work, and large-scale facility projects. This role is ideal for someone who can manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, documentation, and client communication with confidence. The right candidate will be organized, tech-savvy, professional, and able to lead projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal hand-holding. This is a high-impact role with autonomy, national exposure, and the opportunity to grow with a company that is building a strong commercial construction team.

Travel expectation: about two weeks onsite at the start of each project, then a few days at a time several times throughout the project, and as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and project documentation.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes, permits, licenses, badging, and approvals before work begins.
  • Lead site superintendents day to day by setting the schedule, sequencing trades, and reviewing daily reports and photos.
  • Direct subcontractors and vendors while tracking deliveries, long-lead materials, and field progress.
  • Travel to project sites for kickoff, mobilization, inspections, turnovers, and issue resolution.
  • Manage project financials in Autodesk Construction Cloud Cost Management, including forecasting cost-to-complete and protecting project margins.
  • Price and process PCOs/change orders, review subcontractor invoices, and approve pay applications.
  • Prepare monthly client pay applications in AIA G702/G703 format.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, closeout documentation, and federal contract requirements, including Davis-Bacon certified payroll when applicable.
  • Publish weekly project reports and keep leadership, clients, and stakeholders informed with clear, proactive communication.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction required.
  • Experience with occupied-facility remodels, federal/government work, or national-account programs strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in different states.
  • Experience directing field superintendents remotely and holding teams accountable through daily reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, safety, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Smartsheet, and Google Workspace preferred.
  • Comfortable adopting new technology and AI-assisted tools used across operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with owners, construction management firms, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide, including approximately two weeks onsite at each project start.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
  • Full-time W2 employment.
  • Salary: $90,000 - $135,000 per year, based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus eligibility. Weekly pay cycle.
  • Performance bonus of 1% of eligible project gross profit, with total annual bonus potential up to 15% of base salary.
  • 3% IRA match after 3 months.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation per year.
  • Paid holidays include: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
  • Professional development opportunities, including OSHA, fall protection, lift, and manufacturer training.
  • Company-provided laptop and dual monitors.
  • Project completion and performance-based incentives may apply.
  • Opportunity to manage commercial and federal projects across multiple states.
  • High-autonomy role with direct impact on project outcomes, client satisfaction, margin, and schedule performance.
Why North Georgia Civil?

At NGC, you will join a team that values accountability, ownership, and strong communication. The company is family-owned, team-oriented, and built around people who are willing to step in, solve problems, and take pride in the work they deliver. This is not a heavily corporate environment; it is a growing company where strong performers can make a visible impact. If you want to lead meaningful commercial projects, work with a supportive team, and help protect a reputation built on quality, NGC is a strong place to grow.

North Georgia Civil Inc. encourages applications from qualified candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
