Security & Low Voltage Service/Installation Technician

Austin, Texas

Round Rock based integration company is seeking an experienced Security & Low Voltage Service Technician to join our growing team. We specialize in security systems, video surveillance, networking, audio/video, and smart home automation solutions for residential and commercial clients throughout Central Texas.

This position is ideal for a motivated professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality installations, exceptional customer service, and reliable technical support.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems.
  • Strong technical background in intrusion detection and electronic security systems.
  • Experience with residential and commercial security systems, video surveillance, networking, and related low-voltage technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret system drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
  • Proficient in the use of testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience terminating and troubleshooting Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, coaxial cable, and network-connected devices.
  • Working knowledge of installation standards, industry best practices, and job-site safety requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, and mobile field service software.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DSC, Qolsys, Alarm.com, Control4, Lutron, Ubiquiti, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with video surveillance, intercom, networking, and smart home technologies.
  • Texas Security License or ability to obtain and maintain required licensing.
  • Industry certifications are a plus.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, if required.
  • Must possess standard technician hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, work on ladders, and perform installation activities in residential and commercial environments.
