This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional physical therapy services directly to children in their homes. Our goal is to enhance the lives of our pediatric clients by creating personalized therapy plans that promote functional independence and overall well-being.

About the Organization

At Little Hands Pediatric PT Services, we take pride in being a leading national provider of home healthcare focused on pediatric needs. Our mission is to deliver affordable, family-centered healthcare services that prioritize the unique needs of each child and their family. We excel in home healthcare, home hospice, private duty care, and innovative living support services, all designed to minimize barriers to care and maximize the childโ€™s potential for development and success.

Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, where you will work within the comfort of each child's home, allowing for a personalized therapeutic environment that fosters trust and engagement. As a member of our team, you will benefit from a supportive atmosphere that encourages collaboration among professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Your schedule will be Monday to Friday, facilitating work-life balance while focusing on delivering the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop tailored physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and enhancing muscle function based on each child's individual needs.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clientsโ€™ functional capabilities using evidence-based diagnostic assessments to inform therapy goals.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services at home, implement physician-prescribed treatments, and ensure adherence to care plans.
  • Administer manual therapeutic exercises and instruct families and caregivers in non-manual exercises to support ongoing rehabilitation.
  • Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in the execution of therapy plans, ensuring compliance with state regulations and quality standards.
  • Monitor and document client progress meticulously, reporting any changes to the care team, which may include physicians and case managers.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams through case conferences to collaboratively assess and enhance patient treatment strategies.
  • Educate clients and families about physical therapy devices and methods to support successful home-based rehabilitation efforts.
  • Perform ongoing assessments and adjustments to ensure therapies remain aligned with client needs and facilitate access to appropriate community resources.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with children facing a range of physical challenges, from developmental delays to post-operative rehabilitation needs. Each therapy session is designed not only to improve physical functioning but also to empower families through education and shared decision-making, fostering a supportive network around each childโ€™s care.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in good standing within Virginia.
  • Current certification in CPR and first aid.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and automobile insurance for home visits.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and engage with children and their families in a compassionate manner.
  • Ability to develop creative treatment interventions tailored to each childโ€™s unique circumstances.
Preferred Experience
  • At least one year of experience in physical therapy, ideally within a pediatric or home care setting.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience with evidence-based practice and familiarity with the latest therapeutic techniques for pediatric clients.
  • Expertise in using physical therapy tools and equipment to maximize treatment effectiveness.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, our benefits package includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan options, continuing education allowances, and generous paid time off to encourage work-life balance and personal well-being.
