Success in this role includes maximizing student proficiency on state assessments, demonstrating high growth scores, and cultivating confident, capable mathematical thinkers.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Successful RTHS Math Teachers:

  • Understand how to support students transitioning into more abstract, analytical, and proof-based reasoning
  • Use innovative, student-centered strategies that build deep conceptual understanding
  • Persist through challenges and continuously refine their practice
  • Foster confidence in students tackling college-preparatory STEM math

As a Math 1-2 teacher, you are helping Lead the Future of STEM Education.

  • Participate in IEP/504 meetings as needed

3. Curricular Planning & Design

You will collaborate with the academic team to design and implement rigorous, standards-aligned units and lessons that meet the needs of learners taking upper-level courses. This includes:

  • Using high-quality curricular resources
  • Developing assessments that measure readiness for advanced math
  • Integrating STEM applications into higher-order math tasks

4. Professional Learning

You will engage in bi-weekly coaching that supports improvement in:

5. Data-Driven Culture

You will analyze assessment data with grade-level teams to:

  • Identify learning gaps for Math 1 and 2
  • Adjust instruction to support readiness for college-preparatory math

6. Collaboration

You will work within the math department to:

  • Co-plan lessons
  • Align vertical coherence from Math 1 through AP-level courses
  • Review student work and assessments
  • Participate in department- and schoolwide initiatives
