Job description

WEBTOON Entertainment is a leading global entertainment company and home to some of the world's largest storytelling platforms. As the global leader and pioneer of the mobile webcomic format, WEBTOON Entertainment has transformed comics and visual storytelling for fans and creators.
With its CANVAS UGC platform empowering anyone to become a creator, and a growing roster of superstar WEBTOON Originals creators and series, WEBTOON Entertainment's passionate fandoms are the new face of pop culture. WEBTOON Entertainment adaptations are available on Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and other screens around the world, and the company's content partners include Discord, HYBE, and DC Comics, among many others.
We're looking for a Social Media Script Writer/Video Editor with a storyteller's mind and a filmmaker's instinct, someone who knows how to make audiences feel something in under a minute. You should have a distinct creative point of view, a knack for comedy, strong copywriting/scripting skills, and video editing and motion graphic experience, along with a passion for humor, action, thrillers and drama. Whether it's a comedic skit, an emotional trailer, or a high-energy fight sequence, you know how to craft a story that resonates.
With over 5 million followers across all social media channels, our work is seen by a global audience of readers and artists. We partner with some of the biggest brands in entertainment, and beyond promoting WEBTOON series, our team also assists with in-person activations that connect directly to our creators and their fans. Our creatives are best-in-class for what's next in entertainment marketing, and we are looking for innovative creative voices that engage our fans, promote our creators and grow our audience
You'll collaborate closely with our Organic and Growth Marketing teams to bring the world of WEBTOON to life through social and digital content that's bold, emotional, and fan-first. If you're someone who's obsessed with how visual storytelling lives on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, and maybe even have an online presence of your own in the webcomic or fandom space, this is the role for you. Bonus if you voice your own content, characters, and/or are willing to be on camera.
What You'll Do
  • Concept, script, and edit short-form video content that tells a story, capturing audiences' attention with strong hooks and cliffhangers. Must be able to develop content across various genres ranging from punchy humor to edgy romance and fast-paced action.
  • Collaborate with other copywriters, designers, and art directors to create dynamic, character-driven content that feels native to each platform.
  • Develop series promos, trailers, and explainer content that make fans feel connected to WEBTOON's universe.
  • Create expressive animations sourced from comic panels that elevate our characters, fictional worlds, and themes in ways that surprise and delight fans.
  • Move fluidly between producing high-quality motion design and quick-turn, unpolished videos for social
  • Bring your own storytelling POV to projects to make engaging, thoughtful, and entertaining ads that don't feel like ads
  • Stay tapped into fan culture, animation trends, memes, and narrative formats popular with Gen Z and Millennial audiences.

Who You Are
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a creative agency, production company, or in-house entertainment team, ideally with experience in ad content, trailers, branded content, or entertainment marketing.
  • A storyteller first, designer second: you foremost think about pacing, emotion, and structure when creating.
  • Strong copywriting/scripting background. Should be eager to experiment with new writing styles and formats.
  • A clear, reliable communicator who can easily adapt to a fast-paced production timeline and work closely with operations leads to deliver projects on time, on brand, and on budget.
  • Proficient in Premiere Pro and After Effects, with a general knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition) along with additional animation or VFX tools. 3D animation is a plus.
  • Comfortable with character rigging and has a strong comprehension of animation principles.
  • A creative with a strong online presence or portfolio. Bonus if you've already built content or fan edits in the webcomic, animation, or fandom space.
  • Equally confident collaborating with others or running your own projects end-to-end.
  • Passionate about comics, animation, gaming, or storytelling in all forms.
  • Bring humor, heart, and a creative eye to everything you make
  • A positive, adaptable teammate who creates from passion, not ego. You want the process to be as great as the output.
  • Comfortable learning new skills and elevate themselves as a designer or writer in order to promote new ideas and raise the quality of work

Required
  • A portfolio/reel showcasing professional motion design and storytelling work. Please include examples that show your unique tone of voice, artistic range, and creative point of view. We want to feel your storytelling instincts, not just your technical skill.
