Job description

Description:
The Emergency Department RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced rural hospital setting. This role requires adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and flexibility to float to Long-Term Care (LTC) or ICU as needed. This is a 10-week contract with a strict Monday 7:00 AM start time (no exceptions).
Schedule:
  • Variable shifts:
    • Day: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
    • Night: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
    • One 8-hour D/E/N shift
  • 80 hours per two-week period
  • Holiday coverage required (paid based on hours worked)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
  • Perform triage, assessments, and emergency interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Float to LTC or ICU units as needed
  • Document patient care using Cerner EMR
  • Follow facility protocols, safety standards, and emergency procedures
  • Communicate compliance and arrival details through Medefis
Requirements:
  • Active Hawaii RN license (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience (mandatory)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Ability to work all variable shifts and meet exact start-date requirements
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
  • Willingness and ability to float to LTC and ICU
  • Strong emergency assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
Compensation
  • Contract Pay: USD $25,000 - $28,000 (10-week contract)
  • Full-time contract status
  • No bonus, commission, or overtime eligibility
