Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Shop Superintendent to lead our fabrication operations in Atlanta.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who knows structural steel fabrication, enjoys building strong teams, and takes pride in delivering quality work safely and on schedule.
You will oversee the daily operations of our fabrication shop, leading welders, fitters, and fabricators while partnering with project management and operations to ensure projects are completed efficiently and meet our customers' expectations.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of our structural steel fabrication shop.
  • Supervise welders, fitters, fabricators, and shop personnel.
  • Plan daily production schedules and assign work to maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate production priorities with project managers and operations teams.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and fabrication documents.
  • Monitor workflow and resolve production challenges before they impact project schedules.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees while building a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication facility.
  • Drive continuous improvement in shop performance, productivity, and quality.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a structural steel fabrication shop.
  • Experience supervising welders, fitters, and fabrication personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes and shop operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings.
  • Experience managing production schedules, manpower, and workflow.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Atlanta, Georgia.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AISC-certified fabrication operations.
  • Heavy industrial or commercial structural steel fabrication experience.
  • Experience supporting steel erection, crane, or rigging projects.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience developing supervisors, lead personnel, and future leaders.
