RN – Home Health / Public Health Nurse

Mitchellville, IA $62,000 - $87,000 a year

This tight-knit rural community offers a meaningful opportunity to deliver one-on-one nursing care directly to patients in their homes. We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join a collaborative team that prioritizes patient care, supports independence, and promotes public health.

Qualifications:
  • Active Iowa RN license
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Valid Iowa driver's license and auto liability insurance
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Minimum of two years of nursing or healthcare-related experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, assessment, and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills to engage patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Must own a personal cell phone and be comfortable with EMR documentation
What You Will Do:
  • Provide in-home nursing care, including patient assessments, wound care, medication administration, and care planning
  • Coordinate services and collaborate with other healthcare providers to meet patient-centered goals
  • Supervise and support Home Care Aides in the home setting
  • Respond to patient condition changes and life-saving situations according to clinical protocols
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, medications, and care plans
  • Deliver public health services and participate in community wellness initiatives as needed
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement, staff training, and department meetings
  • Document all care in the electronic medical record accurately and promptly
  • Participate in on-call rotation (including 1–2 weekends/month based on holiday schedule)
