Position Overview

Little Hands Pediatric PT Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist specializing in pediatric care to join our team. This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional physical therapy services in a home environment, ensuring that each child's needs are met with personalized attention and expert care. Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, offering therapy services directly in the patients' homes across Richmond, Virginia. Our therapists work in an environment designed to be conducive to healing and recovery, allowing us to customize therapy plans based on each client’s unique home setting. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Little Hands, you will:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess physical capabilities, including muscle strength, mobility, and functional ability, utilizing diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, and joint tests.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on evaluated needs, aiming to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and restore maximum function.
  • Oversee the implementation of treatment plans by Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring adherence to established protocols while providing guidance and support.
  • Administer various therapies, including manual therapeutic exercises, non-manual activities, massage, traction, and physical agent treatments.
  • Evaluate and recommend adjustments to prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed.
  • Engage in collaborative discussions during interdisciplinary team meetings, evaluating and refining care for patients.
  • Maintain clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, care plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy techniques, device use, and overall wellness strategies to enhance patient engagement and outcomes.
  • Ensure timely submission of clinical and payroll documentation in accordance with branch policies.
  • Complete functional assessments and identify community resources to support clients’ ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will be on pediatric patients, working closely with children from various backgrounds and with diverse conditions. Each therapy plan will be tailored specifically to the child’s individual health needs, abilities, and goals, promoting maximum independence and engagement in daily activities.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current and active PT licensure in the state of Virginia.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance, as travel throughout the Richmond area is required.
  • A strong commitment to clinical excellence and a passion for improving patient outcomes.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, ideal candidates will have:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, particularly in acute care or home care settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing or mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants.
  • Experience with pediatric patients and knowledge of childhood conditions.
