Trustpoint is pleased to be partnering with a West-Coast based pharmaceutical company in their search for a Temporary Part-time Pharmaceutical Compliance Attorney. We are seeking an experienced Compliance Attorney to provide legal and compliance support for pharmaceutical and biotech operations on a flexible, part-time contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned healthcare compliance attorney looking to contribute strategic legal guidance and make a meaningful impact without a full-time commitment.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance regulations, promotional review processes, and healthcare industry laws, along with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
Engagement Type: Contract, Part-Time (10+ hours/week)
Duration: Approximately 6 months, with potential for increased hours based on workload and experience
Start Date: ASAP
Experience Required: 5+ Years
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the compliance/legal reviewer on the Promotional Review Committee (PRC), evaluating promotional and non-promotional materials for legal and compliance risks.
  • Provide guidance on healthcare compliance matters, including: Anti-Kickback Statute, Sunshine Act/Open Payments, PhRMA Code OIG Guidance, State healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including: Consulting Agreements, Speaker Agreements, Vendor Contracts, and Master Services Agreements (MSAs)
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, and other business stakeholders to provide practical, risk-based legal advice.
  • Identify compliance risks associated with commercial and medical activities and recommend solutions to mitigate potential exposure.
  • Support compliance initiatives, policy development, training programs, and other special projects as needed.

Qualifications
Required
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare compliance.
  • Direct experience participating in or supporting a Promotional Review Committee (PRC).
  • Strong knowledge of: FDA promotional regulations and healthcare compliance laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a flexible, part-time environment.

Preferred
  • Experience workingwith Veeva PromoMats or similar promotional review platforms.
  • Prior in-house pharmaceutical or biotech experience.
