Financial Paraplanner

Location: Denver, CO (In-office)

Reports to: General Agent

Overview

The Financial Paraplanner will play a key role in supporting the firm's commitment to comprehensive, holistic financial planning in a fee-based environment. This individual will partner with Stellarix advisors to prepare, analyze, and implement financial planning recommendations while delivering a best-in-class client experience.

In addition to supporting affluent individuals and business owner clientele, the Financial Paraplanner will assist advisors throughout the planning process, including data gathering, plan development, case preparation, and recommendation implementation. This role serves as a technical planning resource, helping advisors provide consistent, high-quality financial advice that aligns with clients' long-term financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop key relationships with Home Office Resources within 30 days
• Have a great working knowledge of the MassMutual BD and CRIA within 30 days, including how to open investment accounts and serve firm planning and investment clients within 30 days
• Master the Stellarix and MassMutual Financial Planning Process within 60 Days
• Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial plans for affluent individuals, families, and business owners
• Gather, organize, and maintain client financial data to ensure planning accuracy
• Assist advisors with case design, planning recommendations, and implementation strategies
• Support retirement, investment, insurance, estate, business succession, and cash flow planning initiatives
• Utilize planning software to develop customized financial plans and illustrations
• Ensure a high level of quality and accuracy in all deliverables
• Collaborate with advisors to identify planning opportunities and appropriate solutions for clients
• Assist with implementation and follow-up activities related to financial planning recommendations
• Maintain a process-driven workflow to support efficiency, consistency, and scalability
• Deliver a best-in-class advisor and client experience
• Leverage customer insights to support client-centric planning recommendations
• Embrace the MassMutual Way in support of a comprehensive, consultative approach to client service
• Stay current on planning concepts, industry trends, and regulatory developments
• Assist with advisor education by sharing planning concepts, strategies, and best practices
• Support the growth of financial planning within the firm through technical expertise and planning support
• Identify opportunities to enhance planning processes and improve operational efficiencies

Measurement Criteria

• Financial plans completed
• Planning fees supported
• Plan implementation rate
• Client retention and satisfaction
• Tracked on a YTD and YOY basis
• Quarterly goals will be determined by the General Agent

Qualifications

• CFP® designation preferred (or actively pursuing CFP® certification)
• Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65) preferred
• Life and Health Licensed
• Strong technical financial planning knowledge across personal and business planning disciplines
• Ability to create consistency and scalability through process-oriented planning workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of the relationship between financial planning, insurance planning, investment management, and wealth accumulation
• Experience working with affluent and high-net-worth clients and business owners preferred
• Ability to translate complex planning concepts into actionable recommendations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with advisors and support staff
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial planning software
• Experience with eMoney and/or Profiles strongly preferred
• 3+ years in financial services
• Bachelor's degree

Compensation

$2500 - $3500 monthly 1099 stipend commensurate with registrations, qualifications, ability, and experience. Must maintain good standing with Stellarix Group and MassMutual (including compliance, tech, E&O, and other responsibilities). Stipend is paid via ACH at the end of the month.

Ability to personally produce and develop a book of business.
