Studio Coordinator


Part-Time | In-Person | Alexandria, Virginia | Approximately 14+ Hours per Week



About the Position


Asha Maía Design is seeking a part-time, self-starting Studio Coordinator to support our growing interior design studio and active client projects.


This is a hands-on role that combines studio organization, administrative and project support, procurement and logistics, social media support, and assistance at client homes, project sites, installations, and photoshoots.


The ideal candidate is smart, dependable, proactive, and exceptionally organized. They have strong attention to detail, good common sense, and the ability to take direction and follow a task through to completion. They are comfortable shifting between computer-based work and hands-on tasks and are willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team.


We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing things well, enjoys being part of a small team, and is interested in learning, contributing, and growing with Asha Maía Design.



Job Functions


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Maintain an organized design studio, including the sample library, project materials, supplies, styling inventory, and storage areas
  • Maintain and track styling accessories using the studio's inventory system and assist with pulling and returning inventory for installations and photoshoots
  • Assist with preparing, assembling, and organizing client project documents, materials, samples, and presentations
  • Create and maintain organized client/project files and assist with project-related administrative tasks
  • Prepare materials and supplies for client meetings, site visits, installations, and photoshoots
  • Attend site visits and assist with photographs, notes, measurements, samples, documentation, and other project needs
  • Provide hands-on support during project installations and photoshoots, including preparation, organization, styling support, and on-site assistance
  • Assist with vendor follow-up, order tracking, returns, exchanges, and related documentation
  • Run studio and project errands, including pickups and drop-offs of samples, materials, returns, styling items, and other project needs
  • Support the studio's social media efforts, including Instagram engagement and capturing photo and video content during site visits, installations, photoshoots, and other behind-the-scenes moments
  • Assist with organizing social media content, drafting captions, and developing and executing content ideas in collaboration with the Principal Designer
  • Provide administrative support to the Principal Designer, Project Coordinator, and broader team
  • Assist with other day-to-day needs that help the studio and client projects run smoothly



Who We’re Looking For

  • Tech-savvy and able to learn new software and systems quickly
  • Comfortable capturing quality photo and video content using a smartphone and familiar with Instagram and social media
  • Previous experience in an administrative, operations, project-support, hospitality, retail, design, marketing, or other detail-oriented environment preferred
  • Interior design, architecture, construction, home furnishings, or social media experience is a plus, but not required
  • Must have a car, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation for local travel
  • Must be comfortable working in clients' homes and at active project sites
  • Must be able to perform light physical work, including lifting and carrying samples, boxes, and styling accessories
  • Must be dog-friendly



Schedule & Compensation


This is a part-time, in-person position with approximately 14 regularly scheduled paid hours per week, typically across two weekdays, with additional paid hours as project needs require.


Specific workdays are scheduled around the studio's project calendar and may shift to accommodate client site visits, installations, photoshoots, and other project needs. Flexibility to support key project days is an important part of this role.


The position is based in our Alexandria studio and includes local travel to client homes, project sites, vendors, and other locations throughout the DC metropolitan area.


Compensation: $21–$23 per hour, commensurate with experience.


The role is part-time with the potential to grow as the studio and position evolve.
