HPC Linux Specialist
The Opportunity:
Your combination of people skills and on-prem system management expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting public health? We're looking for a candidate who specializes in HPC Linux systems to help us identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in mission-critical work as we begin to integrate cloud computing.
As an HPC and Linux Systems Specialist on our project, you'll maintain the current on-prem architecture and constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You'll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. You'll help architect and design cloud integration.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience with systems automation scripting in Bash, Perl, or Python
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux systems administration, including automated OS provisioning, software updates and package management, user accounts management, filesystems and access management, compiling software and kernel modules, versioning, or environment modules
  • Experience in COTS management or support
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and managing batch queueing systems for HPC clusters such as SGE, LSF, or Slurm
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices for securing HPC environments
  • Knowledge of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience coordinating with change control and environment management, network, and security teams
  • Experience in automation of server deployment, common tasks, and installation procedures
  • Experience developing systems monitoring dashboards and using monitoring tools
  • Experience with containers such as Singularity or Docker
  • Experience with a major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
