Your Job
Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend Refinery , located in Rosemount, MN, is actively seeking a n Electrical (IEC) Field Engineer .
The ideal candidate brings a strong hands-on electrical field background and is motivated by the opportunity to make meaningful contributions in a collaborative refinery environment. This role requires sound field judgment, strong critical thinking , and the ability to independently troubleshoot issues, remove barriers, and drive practical solutions from planning through commissioning .
Our Team
The IEC DA team within Construction Services provides constructability, planning, field execution, and commissioning support for a wide scope of project s and turnarounds across the refinery.
What You Will Do
  • S upport planning, execution, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems for ongoing operations, projects, unplanned shutdowns, and turnarounds, including extended shift schedules as needed .
  • Review detailed designs and coordinate with craft, engineering, operations, and construction resources to support successful installation , startup, commissioning , and closeout of electrical systems .
  • Collaborate with Project t eam s to establish accurate schedules , cost estimates, and detailed scopes .
  • Manage monitoring device requests from initial concept through field installation, checkout, commissioning, and operational data collection .
  • Explore and trial innovative technologies and systems to transform field processes .
  • Engage with various refinery departments to meet overarching business objectives .

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Technical or bachelor's degree in an electrical discipline OR five ( 5 ) years or more o f hands-on electrical field experience in an industrial environment .
  • Experience interpreting and applying field drawings and schematics , including P&IDs , instrument loop diagrams, electrical schematics , and one -line diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safe-work practices, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace ).

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Prior experience in the refining sector or supporting the petrochemical industry .
  • Journeyman/Ma s ter Electrical License.
  • F ield construction and project execution experience, including maintenance, field engineering, construction management, or project management .
  • Experience maintaining and updating engineering documentation, including electrical drawings , schematics , and field redlines.
  • Hands-on experience installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical distribution equipment, motor control centers, and motor-operated valve actuators.

For this role, we anticipate paying $115,000- $155,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
