Security Guard Position

Eastside Preparatory School (EPS) is seeking a dedicated and professional Security Guard to support our mission: to guide students to think critically, act responsibly, lead compassionately, and innovate wisely. Qualified candidates will be considered for inclusion in our pool of professionals and contacted as needed.

Located in Kirkland, Washington—just five miles from Seattle—EPS is an independent school serving over 500 students from grades 5–12. We foster a vibrant community of critical thinkers, responsible individuals, compassionate leaders, and wise innovators. Our collaborative and supportive environment offers fulfilling career opportunities for individuals who value integrity and purposeful change. If you're seeking a workplace that appreciates your unique skills and encourages growth, Eastside Prep may be the right fit for you.

Under general supervision, the Security Guard serves as the primary gatekeeper for campus visitors. This role demands professionalism, effective communication, and proactive engagement. • Vary patrol routes and timing to avoid routine patterns
  • Greet visitors courteously and maintain appropriate eye contact
  • Strategically position oneself for clear visibility of internal walkways and high-traffic areas
  • Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow as needed

  • Participate in ongoing training and adapt to evolving security needs and best practices
  • Demonstrate accountability, honesty, and a growth-oriented mindset
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations, including fire alarms, security incidents, medical incidents, or natural disasters, in alignment with EPS emergency procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent people skills; ability to interact professionally with students, parents, faculty, staff, and school leadership
  • Commitment to safety and attentiveness to surroundings
  • Punctual for all assigned shifts
  • Willingness to collaborate and engage with the school community
  • Adaptability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Receptive to feedback and continuous learning
  • Operate basic security tools, including radios, campus access control systems, and surveillance cameras, as part of daily monitoring and incident response procedures.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a school or student-centered environment preferred
  • Valid Washington State driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting, in accordance with Washington state regulations for school personnel.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it upon hire. Additional training in de-escalation techniques or campus safety is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours in alignment with school needs

Compensation:

Hourly pay $24-$28 per hour.
