Job description

Description
We're looking for an Estate Planning Associate Attorney who is as comfortable holding a family accountable for a difficult decision as they are drafting the documents that protect them.
At Coastal Legacy Law, our attorneys are educators and guides. You will sit across from families navigating aging, incapacity, and death, and your job is to lead those conversations with enough clarity and confidence that people leave with a plan they actually understand. That requires a specific kind of person: someone who is internally driven with a purpose to help others, is comfortable being direct and structured, but also is able to connect with the individual(s) across from them.
This is a full-time, hybrid role that travels between our DeLand and New Smyrna Beach offices. The option to work from home when not seeing in-person clients is available.
If you believe estate planning and elder law aren't just a legal service but one of the most important things a family can do, and you want to be the person who helps them see that, then keep reading and apply!
TO APPLY
UPDATE: We are currently reviewing several candidate applications and are in the final stages of the interview process. We welcome candidates to continue applying so that we have your resume and video as we continue to expand and grow.
You must complete this application in its entirety, including completing all assessments as well as following all the instructions on the application email sent after applying. It will ask for a video submission. You must submit the video submission in order for your application to be considered complete.
Applications with no video submission will NOT be reviewed.
(Question #2) Tell us about a time you had to guide someone through a decision they were resisting or afraid to make. What was your approach, and what was the outcome?
Compensation: $80,000 - $98,000 base + performance bonuses. Salary range is based on depth and approach of experience. Candidates with experience in relationship-driven, education-based estate planning will be considered at the higher end of the range.
Benefits: 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, $300 monthly healthcare stipend (full benefits coming mid-2027), generous time off policy, and access to firm-sponsored conferences and professional training events.
Responsibilities
• Conduct one-on-one Legal Life Planning Sessions (LLPS - consultations) with prospective clients, educating and guiding them toward confident decisions (target: ≥ 80% conversion rate)
• Speak with potential clients on the phone to qualify and book an LLPS (target: ≥ 30% conversion rate)
• Review estate plan drafts done by the team for legal accuracy and design precision
• Explain complex legal concepts in plain language, meeting clients where they are
• Travel regularly between our DeLand and New Smyrna Beach offices for in-person scheduled meetings
• Document all client interactions in the CRM with accuracy and communicate updates proactively across the team
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure organized, high-quality execution on every matter
• Take initiative in learning and developing firm processes, particularly in new and growing practice areas such as Elder Law, Special Needs, Probate, Trust Administration, and Guardianship
Qualifications
