Job description

About the Role

Baker Law Group is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate to join our growing Texas team in Austin. This is a full-time, hybrid role for an attorney who is ready to take on meaningful responsibility, work directly with senior attorneys, and help build the firm's Texas litigation presence.

This is a strong opportunity for a practical, motivated litigator who wants hands-on case experience, client contact, courtroom exposure, and the chance to grow with an expanding multi-state law firm.

What You'll Do

The Civil Litigation Attorney will support a broad range of Texas civil litigation matters. Responsibilities may include:

  • Manage litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Handle written discovery, document review, and case investigation
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Communicate with clients regarding case status, strategy, deadlines, and next steps
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and case development
  • Conduct legal research and prepare clear, practical legal analysis
  • Assist with real estate, construction, business, contract, employment, defamation, landlord/tenant, and general civil litigation matters
  • Support the growth of Baker Law Group's Texas litigation practice
  • Maintain deadlines, organize case materials, and move matters forward efficiently

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a Texas-licensed attorney with 3-5 years of civil litigation experience who is ready to grow into a more independent litigation role.

Strong candidates will have:

  • Active Texas bar admission
  • Approximately 3-5 years of civil litigation experience
  • Strong legal writing and research skills
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and client communications
  • Comfort working on a variety of civil litigation matters
  • Deposition, hearing, mediation, or trial preparation experience
  • Strong organizational skills and deadline management
  • Good judgment and willingness to ask questions when needed
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal team members
  • Interest in helping build a growing Texas practice
  • A practical, low-ego, team-oriented approach

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following areas is helpful:

  • Real estate litigation
  • Construction litigation
  • Business or contract disputes
  • Defamation matters
  • Employment litigation
  • Landlord/tenant disputes
  • General commercial or civil litigation
  • Court appearances, depositions, mediations, or second-chair trial work

Work Environment

This role is based in Austin, Texas and will follow a hybrid schedule, with some days in the office and remote flexibility.

Baker Law Group's Texas office is growing, and this attorney will have the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys while gaining meaningful litigation experience. The right person should be comfortable in a fast-moving environment where they can take ownership, contribute to the team, and grow with the practice.

Compensation

This role offers a base salary of $130,000-$170,000, depending on experience. We also offer a tiered bonus structure, over and above base salary amount.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits: 401(k), health, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, and professional development assistance
  • Generous Bonus opportunities

Why Join Baker Law Group?

Baker Law Group is expanding its Texas presence and looking for attorneys who want to be part of that growth. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of civil litigation matters, gain hands-on experience, collaborate with experienced attorneys, and help shape the future of the firm's Texas litigation practice.

This is a strong fit for an attorney who wants more responsibility, meaningful client work, courtroom exposure, and a team that values practical judgment, strong work product, and growth.
