Weekend Security Guard
4:00pm-11:45pm $19.00 +$.25 an hour.
PART TIME, EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
16 HOURS PER 2 WEEK PAYPERIOD, C

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Receptionist is responsible for receiving all persons entering the building with respect, providing them with the information requested, and directing them to the proper person or place. The Receptionist is also responsible for answering, screening, and directing all calls. These services are consistent with the Homeโ€™s standards and philosophy and are following all regulations, codes, policies and procedures that govern the facility.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  1. A high school education or equivalent is preferred.
  2. Must be able to pass a Criminal background and a Pre-Employment Drug(thc) test.
  3. Well-groomed, patient, and courteous.
  4. Display calm, levelheaded nature especially in emergencies and during busy times.
  5. Have thorough knowledge of the Homeโ€™s operation and physical layout.
  6. Able to learn and efficiently operate the phone and pager systems.
  7. Knowledge of fire protection and prevention systems/equipment; and official fire prevention rules and regulations.
  8. Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English.
  9. Must be dependable and be able to maintain confidentiality.
  10. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  11. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to change in an ever-evolving environment.
  12. Prior experience in senior living or long-term care is preferred.
  13. Must have a sincere desire to work with the Aged.
Essential Functions: A personal copy of current Employee Handbook, the Homeโ€™s Supplement and Benefit Guide are provided at time of hire.
  1. Answer telephone; determine nature of call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department, screen calls as requested.
  2. Receive and deliver accurate messages in a timely and prompt manner.
  3. Uphold and enforce the Homeโ€™s security plan, sign in and out procedures, monitor surveillance camera (if applicable) and only allow entrance of those recognized.
  4. Respond to any alarms on the premises and ensure reports are made based on the need.
  5. Listen with empathy to resident and family concerns.
  1. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth as well as a calm environment in the reception area.
  2. Assist with and perform clerical and other duties as directed by supervisor.
  3. Assure that work area is neat, clean, and left in order when leaving for breaks, end of day, etc.
  4. Maintain a current file/listing to include: Residents by name and room number, emergency phone numbers, department extensions, and key personnel.
  5. Monitor the activity of confused Residents when they are in the reception area. Contact unit staff if there is any question as to a Resident leaving the building unattended.
  6. Maintain confidentiality of all resident, departmental and organizational information. Assure that all resident rights are maintained at all times, reporting issues of concern to supervisor.
  7. Must comply with all policies and procedures of the Home; including safety and infection control.
  8. Work effectively and cooperatively with all departments.
  9. Perform any other duties necessary to fulfill the primary duties and responsibilities of the position, as well as those assigned by management personnel.
