The Production Worker prepares and moves raw materials to support manufacturing operations, ensuring components are accurately measured, loaded, and processed through the production line. This role works closely with machine operators, assisting with material preparation, monitoring product flow, and performing basic inspections. As skills develop, the Production Worker has the opportunity to advance into a permanent role on day shift.

• Prepare raw materials and components for production by measuring small amounts of metals into containers and weighing them accurately.
• Load prepared materials into barrels and ensure they are correctly staged for processing on the production line.
• Monitor product as it comes off the line to verify proper flow, quality, and consistency.
• Work closely with machine operators to support safe and efficient operation of production equipment.
• Assist with general production tasks, including assembly, inspection, and material handling as needed.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures to perform daily tasks with precision.
• Read and follow operation and production instructions to maintain consistent processes and output.
• Perform visual inspections and basic troubleshooting to identify issues with materials, equipment, or product quality.
• Support furnace, heat treating, and foundry-related processes as directed, following safe shop floor practices.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when required, in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in a dirty, industrial environment, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with leads and team members, communicating effectively to meet production goals and schedules.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to protect self, coworkers, and equipment on the shop floor.

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and follow detailed operation and production instructions.
• Safe and proficient shop floor practices in an industrial environment.
• Basic production and machine operation skills.
• Experience with inspection and general production tasks.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical equipment.
• Ability to perform general labor and assembly work as part of production.
• Capability to operate forklifts and handle materials safely, if required.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with leads and operators.

• Experience with machine operating and general production in a foundry or heat treating environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools for accurate material preparation.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and address basic equipment or process issues.
• Comfort working around furnaces, heat treating equipment, and foundry processes.
• Strong mechanical inclination and interest in learning more complex machine operations.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 schedule on either day or night shifts.
• Ability to provide documentation such as a birth certificate and diploma or transcripts (including GED) as required for government contract facilities.

The role is based in a small industrial facility with approximately 18 employees plant-wide, creating a close-knit and highly collaborative atmosphere. The environment is dirty and not heated or cooled, requiring comfort working in varying temperatures and conditions typical of a foundry and heat-treat setting. Production Workers interact primarily with a lead and machine operators, using tools such as hand tools, power tools, tape measures, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. Work is performed on a 2-2-3 schedule, with options for day shift (5 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or night shift (5 p.m. to 5 a.m.), supporting continuous production operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salisbury, NC.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr.
