  • Conduct field inspections at construction sites to verify compliance with erosion and sediment control permits.
  • Inspect erosion control measures such as:
    • Silt fences
    • Sediment basins
    • Perimeter controls
    • Grading activities
  • Review erosion and sediment control plans to ensure they meet Virginia regulations.
  • Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports.
  • Update project and construction documentation.
  • Perform post-construction inspections.
  • Stay current on Virginia environmental laws and regulations.
  • Travel to job sites, often independently, using a company vehicle.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Valid Virginia driver's license (or ability to meet licensing requirements) with at least 3 years of licensed driving experience.
  • Virginia DEQ Stormwater and Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC) certification, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of related experience in construction inspection, environmental compliance, or civil/site development.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Dependable, punctual, and responsive.
Work Environment
  • Home-based travel to inspection sites within approximately a 60-mile radius of Stuart, Virginia (also considering candidates from the Roanoke or Danville areas).
  • A company vehicle is provided.
  • Occasional visits to the office may be required.
  • Most of the work is outdoors at active construction sites, with some office work for reporting and documentation.
Ideal Candidate

If you have experience in construction, surveying, environmental science, civil engineering, or inspection work, this position could be a strong fit.
