Job description

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary
Cardinal Ritter College Prep is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Girls Basketball Coach to support all aspects of the girls basketball program. The successful candidate will assist in developing student-athletes both on and off the court by promoting skill development, teamwork, discipline, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic success. This position works closely with the Head Coach to foster a positive and competitive program while ensuring compliance with all school, conference, and Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and training sessions.
  • Provide individual and team instruction to improve basketball fundamentals, game knowledge, and overall player development.
  • Support game preparation, scouting, and implementation of team strategies.
  • Assist with game-day operations, including supervision of student-athletes and coaching responsibilities.
  • Help organize and manage program communications, equipment, uniforms, inventory, and recordkeeping.
  • Encourage and monitor the academic progress, attendance, and character development of student-athletes.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and leadership among team members.
  • Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and the community.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, athletic department expectations, and MSHSAA rules and regulations.
  • Support the overall mission and values of Cardinal Ritter College Prep.

Qualifications
  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience in basketball, preferably at the high school or club level.
  • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and team concepts.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and positively influence student-athletes.
  • Commitment to the academic, personal, and athletic success of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, Athletic Director, faculty, and parents.
  • Must meet all district, diocesan, and state coaching certification and background check requirements.
