Job Title: Powder Coat Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on operating and optimizing powder coating processes in a fast-paced production environment with multiple lines and colors. The Powder Coat Technician applies advanced coating techniques, runs in-line automated powder lines and related equipment, and helps guide and train associates in a lead-type capacity to ensure consistent quality and efficient production.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor in-line automated powder coating lines, including setup, programming, and adjustment of equipment to meet production requirements.
  • Apply powder coatings using proper spray techniques to ensure consistent coverage, adhesion, and finish quality across multiple colors and product types.
  • Prepare parts and surfaces for coating, including cleaning, masking, and inspecting components prior to application.
  • Adjust equipment settings and application parameters to optimize coating quality and minimize defects, rework, and material waste.
  • Inspect coated parts for quality, including film thickness, coverage, color consistency, and overall appearance, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Troubleshoot powder coating equipment, spray guns, and related systems to resolve issues quickly and maintain production flow.
  • Train and mentor associates on proper powder coating techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices, supporting a production lead type role.
  • Coordinate with production team members to manage multiple lines and colors, ensuring efficient changeovers and minimal downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning of equipment and booths to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to powder coating operations, equipment use, and material handling.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
