What is a Home Based Biotech Data Analyst?

A Home Based Biotech Data Analyst is a professional who works remotely to collect, process, and analyze data related to biotechnology. They interpret biological datasets, such as genomic sequences or clinical trial results, using statistical and computational tools. Their work supports research, product development, and decision-making in the biotech industry. Working from home, they typically use specialized software to collaborate with research teams and communicate findings to stakeholders.

How does a home-based Biotech Data Analyst typically collaborate with laboratory teams and researchers?

As a home-based Biotech Data Analyst, you will frequently collaborate with laboratory teams and researchers through virtual meetings, shared digital workspaces, and cloud-based data platforms. Clear communication is essential, as you'll need to interpret experimental data, provide statistical analysis, and generate reports that support ongoing research projects. Regular check-ins and project management tools help ensure alignment with lab goals, while remote access to databases and analytical software allows you to contribute effectively despite being offsite.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Home Based Biotech Data Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Home Based Biotech Data Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a background in biological sciences or bioinformatics, and proficiency in statistical analysis. Experience with data analysis tools such as R, Python, SQL, and familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or genomics databases are typically required. Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication are key soft skills for collaborating remotely and interpreting complex data. These skills and qualities are crucial for accurately analyzing biological datasets, supporting research objectives, and ensuring data-driven decisions in a remote work environment.

Job description

Snowflake Solution Architect (Life Sciences / Biotech Data Platforms)
Location: Remote (EST time zone)
Position type: Contract
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Solution Architect to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native data platforms supporting commercial, clinical, and enterprise data domains within life sciences organizations. This role will focus on building modern data ecosystems that integrate diverse data sources into governed, analytics-ready environments that enable reporting, advanced analytics, and AI/ML use cases.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Snowflake and modern data architectures, along with hands-on experience designing and implementing data warehouse solutions in regulated environments. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate complex requirements into performant, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and implement scalable data warehouse solutions using Snowflake
• Design end-to-end data architectures including ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers
• Develop and optimize data models (dimensional and normalized) to support analytics and reporting use cases
• Lead integration of multiple data sources including commercial, clinical, and third-party vendor data
• Define and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tooling (e.g., DBT, Azure Data Factory, Databricks)
• Establish data governance, security, and data quality frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements
• Optimize Snowflake performance, cost management, and workload scaling strategies
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data strategy, architecture roadmaps, and platform evolution
• Support downstream analytics, BI (e.g., Power BI), and data science initiatives
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data warehousing, or data engineering
• Experience in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare data (commercial, clinical, RWD, etc.)
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake in a solution architecture role
• Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling (dimensional modeling, data vault, etc.)
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred, AWS acceptable)
• Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools (DBT, Databricks, MuleSoft, etc.)
• Experience integrating complex datasets (e.g., transactional, third-party, semi-structured data)
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices
• Excellent communication skills with ability to interface between business and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with HCP/HCO, claims, Rx, or clinical trial datasets
• Experience with MDM solutions and customer data integration
• Knowledge of regulatory considerations (e.g., GxP, HIPAA)
• Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core or Advanced)
