Job description

Description
The assistant baseball coach will assist with all aspects of a NAIA collegiate baseball program prioritizing recruiting, on the field coaching and other duties assigned by the head baseball coach. This position will report to the head baseball coach and athletic director.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. Successful collegiate coaching, recruiting experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated ability to serve as a strong Christian role model/mentor for student-athletes.
4. Demonstrated ability to intentionally contribute to the spiritual development of student-athletes.
5. Demonstrated ability to integrate faith in teaching, coaching, and team culture.
6. Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
7. Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
8. Must be proficient in technology, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office software applications.
9. Must possess current certification in First Aid and CPR.
10. Self-starter, highly motivated, and well-organized.

Essential Functions:
1. Effectively assist with all aspects of a collegiate baseball program including practice, game, travel planning and organization.
2. Develop and Implement Individualized Pitching Plans
3. Coordinate Throwing Programs and Monitor Pitching Workload
4. Communication with Athletic Training Staff Regarding Pitcher Health
5. Provide accountability and discipline for student-athletes spiritually, socially, academically, and athletically.
6. Recruit and retain quality student-athletes who can succeed academically and are an institutional fit.
7. Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract and retain qualified student-athletes who are a strong fit for Simpson University's academic and athletic programs
8. Participate in all team activities.
9. Travel to all away games and necessary recruiting trips.
10. Effectively use social media to promote the baseball program.
11. Have awareness, accountability, and educate student-athletes on the proper use of social media.
