Job description

Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a motivated Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical/Software Engineer to join the Weapon System Assessment and Reference Models (WSARM) team for an exciting opportunity supporting the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system program. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a talented and highly-skilled team that supports Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) with software modeling and simulation efforts, reference model updates and Integration with flight software. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the Minuteman III ICBM program with a team of subject matter experts. The advancement of technical skills and analysis capabilities are emphasized while producing high-quality products and effectively supporting the government customers. This position will directly support the following WSARM tasks: Provide improvements to the Government Flight Simulator - Minuteman III (GFS-M). Update a highly complex 6-Degree of Freedom simulation software tool. Develop, maintain, and modify software tools to evaluate vehicle performance. Provide engineering support to investigate off-nominal vehicle performance through Monte Carlo analysis. Perform mass properties evaluations in support of design change assessments. Perform Missile System, Missile Vehicle Body Dynamics, and performance analyses. Maintain physics-based engineering models and perform statistical analyses. Publish various briefing materials and reports. The position is located at Hill AFB, Utah. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field from an ABET accredited program or Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Software.
12+ years related experience (8+ years with a Master's degree).
Engineer with in-depth analysis experience.
Software programming experience.
Experience in developing and maintaining 6 Degree of Freedom software tools.
Technical writing and presentation skills.
Background in structural, thermal, fluids, dynamics analyses. Proficient in C and C++. Revision control and configuration management with Gitlab.
Position level will be based on candidate experience and qualifications. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. MATLAB. Python, Fortran, Ada programming languages are desired. Experience configuring, executing, and analyzing Monte Carlo simulations. Knowledge of configuration management and pipeline execution in Gitlab. Visualization of simulation outputs using STK or equivalent programs. NASTRAN experience desired. Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $136000 - $231200 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
