Description
JOB OVERVIEW:
Automation Technician is expected to be self-motivated, solution oriented and take accountability for actions taken. Expected to provide expertise with others and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while on the clock. Expected to work outside in all weather conditions performing installation, troubleshooting, or other automation services for clients of Black Label Services. Expected to balance team and personal obligations and work long hours when necessary to reach goals or meet deadlines. Seeks out opportunities for growth and additional opportunities. Ability to adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Automation Technician II is expected to be to work on time ready and prepared for the day's work including proper attire and PPE. Positive attitude and forward thinking are also a requirement of the Automation Technician II position.
Requirements
JOB DUTIES
  • Keep accurate records of all hours worked, inventory parts used, and services performed
  • Efficiently follow direction from Foremen, and Supervisors
  • Maintain professional behavior and proper communication with internal and external contacts
  • Properly utilize, care for, and secure all company tools, supplies, and equipment
  • Comply with all corporate policies and OSHA rules/regulations while carrying out work processes
  • Effectively manage time, follow directions, and complete work within specified timeframe
  • Successfully complete requested training classes and maintain all necessary safety certifications
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and hazard free
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Company Vehicle, Clean, Maintained, Truck Inspections Performed

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Expected to work outside for extended periods of time
  • Long periods of standing, crouching, leaning, and stretching
  • Expected to work in all weather conditions unless otherwise notified by Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge of how basic field devices work and how they relay information
  • 2 years Oil and Gas, instrumentation install experience, electrician preferred
  • What language these devices use to talk and how do we read/write information from/to it. Coriolis, MVS, PT's 1-5 & 4/20, Tank Levels, Valves, Solenoids
  • Knowledge of which applications are used for field devices used routinely by account producers
  • RTU's/ Controller, Measurement Devices, Wellhead Communications Radios, HMI's, and Tank Levels and Switches
  • Able to properly pack and identify all parts in separator kits and in wellhead kits without assistance
  • Knowledge of IP addresses and how to change Computer's IP based on any location
  • Can explain difference in AI/AO DI/DO and identify every device on and can identify how it transmits data and where it gets wired
  • Knowledge of BLS SOPs pertaining to automation
  • Ability to wire in and explain function of BMS
  • Ability to wire in batteries and solar in series and in parallel, and explain why
