Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Window Treatment Design Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will blend interior design expertise with consultative sales to transform our clients' spaces using premium window solutions. Best of all, we provide most of your leads through our robust advertising and active word-of-mouth referral network. This allows you to focus on design and closing sales. We offer a flexible compensation model tailored to your career goals—whether you prefer the stability of a base plus commission structure or the maximum earning potential of a 100% commission plan. [1, 2, 3]

Core Responsibilities

  • Design Consultations: Conduct in-home and showroom design consultations using company-provided, qualified leads to understand client aesthetics and goals.
  • Product Expertise: Educate clients on our core product offerings, specialized fabric selections, Custom Drapery, and custom shutter options.
  • Smart-Home Automation: Present and demonstrate advanced motorization systems, ensuring seamless integration with client home systems. [1, 2]
  • Precision Measurement: Take accurate window measurements and evaluate site conditions to ensure flawless product ordering specifications.
  • Sales & Estimating: Generate comprehensive quotes, present design proposals, overcome objections, and close sales.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects from the initial consultation through ordering, tracking, and final installation walkthroughs.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in interior design, luxury retail, home furnishings, or consultative sales. Prior experience working with Hunter Douglas or Alta Window Fashions product lines is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong spatial awareness, comfort with basic math/fractions for measuring, and excellent visual presentation skills.
  • Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn custom quoting CRM software, online vendor ordering portals, and smart-home motorized window technologies.
  • Traits: Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, and excellent at building immediate trust with clients.
  • Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to local client appointments. [1]

Compensation & Benefits

  • Flexible Pay Structures: Choose between Base Salary + Uncapped Commission OR 100% Commission (highest earning potential for proven closers).
  • Consistent flow of pre-screened, warm leads generated by our marketing budget and strong word-of-mouth reputation.
  • Comprehensive training program on specialized vendor product catalogs, measuring techniques, and sales strategies.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits package available.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
