JOB SUMMARY

ACS Security is hiring Armed Patrol Officers to work in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

  • $25.00 to $26.00 per hour - Highly skilled individuals with extensive security patrol experience may be considered for this enhanced wage offering

JOB SPECIFICS

  • Work in a company vehicle
  • Regular full-time (40 hours a week) hourly position.
  • Must be able to work at least one weekend shift
  • Swing and graveyard shifts are always available. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONISIBILITIES

  • Monitor and patrol premises to prevent theft, violence, and maintain general security of assigned post
  • Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
  • Maintain Daily Activity Reports, incident reports and accident reports
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and patrons
  • Respond to emergency calls including alarm activations, medical, fire and property damage
  • Respond to reasonable non-emergency requests and security related requests
  • Remain alert and vigilant while on duty to identify and observe any risks to clients or property and address them.
  • Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current BSIS Firearm Permit
  • Level 2 retention holster w/a locking hood or a level 3 holster
  • CA Driver’s License with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, and a clean driving record
  • Current BSIS CA Guard Card
  • Baton certificate OR pepper spray permit required prior to scheduling an interview
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
  • High School graduation or GED
  • Must be able to take and successfully pass a drug test within 48 hours of the offer and meet the requirements of a background check

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficient verbal communication skills when interacting with clients, emergency services, community members and team members
  • Proficient written communication, documentation and report writing skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor/appearance while interacting with clients and the general public, including meeting uniform standards
  • Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to use software and applications on a phone to access and input information
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
  • Drive a vehicle in a safe manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sit for long periods of time, stand and walk as required
  • Drive a vehicle for long periods of time
  • Climb and ascend stairs, bend and stoop on occasion
  • Hear sounds at normal speaking levels, in person and on the phone
  • Perform duties such as reading and preparing written documents, viewing security monitors and information on a phone
  • Ability to use a firearm, pepper spray and a baton
  • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail while working
  • Occasionally lift, carry and/or move items weighing up to forty (40) pounds
