Other high-paying jobs without a degree include certain sales positions, skilled trades like plumbing or electrical work, and entrepreneurial ventures, but these often require experience, certifications, or a strong network to reach that income level.

What are holsters and what are they used for?

Holsters are specially designed holders or cases used to secure and carry firearms, typically handguns. They are commonly worn on a belt or attached to clothing, making it easier and safer to carry a weapon while allowing for quick access when needed. Holsters come in various styles and materials to suit different needs, such as concealed carry, open carry, or tactical use. Their primary purpose is to protect the firearm, prevent accidental discharge, and provide comfort and accessibility for the user.

How hard is it to get hired at Hollister?

The hiring process is competitive but often depends on store needs and the applicant's availability and experience in retail environments.

What career is most needed right now?

The demand for cybersecurity professionals, including roles like security analysts and engineers, is currently high due to increasing digital threats. Achieving the right fit for various firearm models, ensuring durability with different materials, and staying updated on design trends can be challenging. Additionally, working closely with customers or retailers to understand their needs helps in producing holsters that meet both practical and visual expectations.

To thrive as a Holster Maker, you need proficiency in leatherworking, handcrafting, and pattern design, often backed by vocational training or apprenticeship. Familiarity with tools like sewing machines, cutting tools, and finishing equipment is essential, as are any certifications in leathercraft or related trades. Attention to detail, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills help set apart exceptional holster makers. About the Opportunity

We are seeking professional, disciplined, and experienced Level III Commissioned Security Officers to support school-based safety and protection. This role is ideal for officers who take pride in their appearance, communication, and tactical readiness — and who want to work in a mission-driven environment that values professionalism and leadership.

If you want to make a meaningful impact on campus safety while working alongside educators, families, and law enforcement, this is the position for you.

As a commissioned officer assigned to a school campus, you will:

  • Serve as a visible, trusted security presence for students and staff
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies
  • Maintain strong communication and de-escalation standards
  • Prepare accurate and timely incident and daily activity reports
  • Partner closely with school administrators and local law enforcement
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and situational awareness
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and accountability

This is a position where your demeanor and decision-making matter as much as your tactical skill set

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Texas DPS Level III Commissioned License
  • 21+ years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation and a working mobile phone
  • Strong firearm handling and safety proficiency
  • Ability to pass background screening and physical fitness assessment
  • Strong writing, communication, and observation skills
  • Ability to work independently with professionalism and integrity

Disqualifiers (No Exceptions)

  • Felony conviction within 10 years
  • Class A Misdemeanor within 5 years
  • Class B Misdemeanor within 2 years
  • Any domestic/family violence conviction
  • Any open charges or deferred adjudication for felony or Class A/B misdemeanor

Required Duty Gear (Officer-Provided)

  • Service-caliber duty firearm (Glock, SIG Sauer, S&W, H&K — 9mm/.40/.45)
  • Level III retention holster no dropdown or thigh holster
  • Full duty belt setup
  • OD Green tactical pants
  • Flashlight, handcuffs, and other standard duty accessories

Preferred Experience

We strongly value applicants with:

  • Prior military or law enforcement background
  • Previous school security or SRO-style experience
  • Advanced firearm proficiency
  • Demonstrated report writing excellence
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and leadership skills

Schedule & Physical Standards

  • Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends or holidays if required
  • Must maintain a clean-cut, professional appearance
  • Ability to walk, stand, run, climb, or sit for extended periods
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Why Join Us?

  • Stable, long-term school assignments
  • Professional work environment
  • Opportunities for additional hours
  • Serve in a meaningful, high-impact role
  • Be part of a team committed to safety, professionalism, and excellence

Pay varies by assignment and location.
