IU Health Bloomington Hospital Endoscopy unit has 5 endoscopy suites. The RNs in this role will service outpatient and inpatient needs for gastroenterology and pulmonology procedures. Our ideal candidate has previous experience working in a hospital setting with a background in procedural areas. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and time management skills.

There is a 30-minute response time for this role for holiday rotation only. This position would also require 1-2 days during the week dependent upon candidate availability outside of the weekend obligation.

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

  • Obtain SGNA and Trauma certifications
  • Become a Certified Perianesthesia nurse
  • Develop phenomenal procedural skills
  • Understand the world of surgical services from Pre/Post, OR room, Endo, PACU, and more
  • Refine time management skills

Qualifications:

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
