Job description

This is a floating AM position between AMOREM's patient care units in Valdese and Hudson.
Through a holistic approach, high quality comprehensive care is provided timely and efficiently to promote a positive end of life experience in the PCU.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish a plan of care for new patients in coordination with IDG
• Make assignments and supervise patient care
• Notify staff of patient death in accordance with policy
• Assure medications are administered accurately and on a timely basis and in accordance with MD orders
• Respond promptly to all emergency situations
• Maintain constant vigilance over patients, ensuring necessary safety precautions are taken
• Follow all infection control procedures
• Supervise nursing assistants, LPNs and volunteers on duty
• Assure the facility is secured by safety policies and procedures after hours and on weekends
• Assure that patients and families have solace and privacy
• Assure patient/facility supplies, laundry and equipment are appropriately cleaned and stocked
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Willingness to work with patients/families regardless of race, color, creed, age or sexual orientation. Must respect their beliefs and philosophy with an attitude of openness.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a supervisory role
• Strong communication skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Current NC license as a registered nurse
• Active patient contact or completion of a nursing refresher course within the past three years
Licensures & Certifications: (if applicable):
• CPR certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Visual acuity to read written documentation and computer tasks
• Ability to sit extended periods of time and perform administrative tasks
• Ability to stand, bend and lift an average of 30 pounds
• Manual dexterity with the ability to manipulate office equipment and keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to walk, squat, kneel, climb and balance
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have an automobile with required insurance coverage and state driver's license
• PRN employees must complete one 12-hour shift in 90 days
