Full-Time,3rdShift

BHCOR-Cor NICU Intermediate |Corbin, KY

NICU Our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)is a 10-bed unitproviding specialized and intensive medical care for premature and critically ill newborns, caring for infants from32 weeks' gestation through full term. The unit delivers continuous monitoring and evidence-based interventions to support respiratory, nutritional, and developmental needs, while emphasizing family-centered care and safe transitions to discharge.

Performs carerequiringsubstantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological,physicaland social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Mustpossessabilityto supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continuallymonitorand adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

Description:

  • Conducts and documents patient assessments, monitors condition changes, and updates care plans as needed.

  • Provides patient carein accordance withhospital policies, procedures, and physician orders.

  • Developsindividualized patient and family education and discharge plans using a multidisciplinary approach.

  • Communicateseffectively with physicians, supervisors, patients, and healthcare team members to support quality patient care.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking, sound judgment, andappropriate delegationin routine and emergency situations.

  • Prioritizes workload, coordinates patient flow, and completes assignments efficiently within scheduled shifts.

  • Supports teamwork, staff development, and professional growth while serving as a resource to others.

  • Maintainsrequiredlicensure, completes mandatory training, and follows all safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Nursingrequired;Bachelor'sdegree preferred.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with current RN licensurerequired.

  • No prior experiencerequired; patient care experience preferred.

  • Current Kentucky RN license or Kentucky work permitrequired.

  • Required certifications/training include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Glucometer Training, and Aegis Training.

  • BLS certification must be obtained within30 daysofhire.

  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications must be obtained within90 daysof hire.

  • Glucometer and Aegis Trainingrequiredupon hireor perdepartment needs.
