Overview

Holiday Camp Coordinator position requires a highly motivated, knowledgeable and dynamic individual who is responsible to assist in the day-to-day organization of the Holiday Programming.


Responsibilities

With support from senior staff, develop and schedule activities that fulfill the program's objectives and that address the needs and interests of students and families

Assist in recruiting children and families to participate in the program

Assist in hiring, supervising and support a staff

Write and submit reports to funding agencies+

Assist in the interviewing, managing, training, and coaching of program staff and volunteers

Assist in creating a strong sense of community which values respect, acceptance, and high expectations

Review lesson plans weekly; support the development of curriculum maps and activity plans

Participate in school leadership committees and PTA meetings

Create a strong sense of community which values respect, acceptance, and high expectations



Requirements

Strong commitment to Breakaway Hoops' mission to educate for social responsibility and to foster students' social and emotional learning

2 year degree required; BA a plus

3+ years' experience leading highly effective learning programs in a public school or non-profit setting, demonstrated talent as a program coordinator; experience in the NYC Department of Education a plus.

Excellent social and emotional skills
