Job description

Who are we?

J/PR is a global communications firm specializing in PR, content creation, and social media for the world’s leading luxury travel and lifestyle brands. From Relais & Châteaux to Hilton Luxury Brands, we tell compelling stories that connect brands to global audiences. Named a "Best Place to Work" by PR News and Crain’s, we offer a work-life blend rooted in travel, mentorship, and a connected culture.

Who are you?

You are a visual storyteller and avid traveler who excels in fast-paced, creative environments. You are a detail-oriented problem solver who stays ahead of trends to deliver excellence in social media-focused content production.

The Role

The Social Media Photographer supports our internal production, pushing boundaries in social-focused content. As a subject-matter expert for Instagram and Facebook, you will strategically oversee the entire lifecycle of content production—from scoping and talent management to shooting, editing, and final delivery. This role requires a diplomatic, highly organized leader capable of collaborating with senior management and global clients.
This is a hybrid role based in our San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Nashville office with a target start date of April 2026. While our primary need is for a West Coast-based photographer, we are open to hiring an amazing new team member in Nashville or New York.

Duties and Responsibilities

Content Missions / Digital Archives

  • Lead end-to-end content creation (photo, video, graphic) for on-property shoots, including planning, execution, post-production, and delivery.
  • Liaise with account teams and clients to align mission goals, shot lists, and itineraries.
  • Manage all pre-production logistics: hiring models/influencers, procuring props, and scheduling.
  • Oversee on-site management of talent and vendors.
  • Execute post-production (editing, retouching, cropping) using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
  • Maintain meticulous agency archives to ensure client content is easily accessible.

Content Strategy

  • Collaborate with teams to achieve project goals through impactful visuals and discerning copy.
  • Leverage social analytics and paid content knowledge to inform strategy and brainstorm engaging posts.

Content Calendars

  • Maintain client brand aesthetics and voice across all delivered content.
  • Review mockups and captions, offering strategic edits for monthly calendars.
  • Oversee external client editing and ensure content is published to IG/FB in an agreed cadence.

Account and Client Management

  • Actively lead social updates during internal and client meetings.
  • Manage client expectations regarding delivery deadlines and imagery requests.
  • Facilitate clear project communication to ensure all stakeholders are ready for execution.

Leadership

  • Act as an agency resource for cultural trends, platform changes, and industry news.
  • Support new business growth and leverage professional networks for agency connections.
  • Represent the agency at industry conferences, workshops, and events.

Other

  • Additional tasks, projects, or duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • College Degree or comparable work experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in photography, videography and content production.
  • 1+ years of drone photography experience
  • Must have a strong portfolio of travel/hotel industry (F&B/Spa) focused work.
  • Experience working with a leading agency or global luxury brand is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced photography skills (manual settings, lighting, depth of field) and an eye for social-specific composition.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and Mac OS.
  • Advanced understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, client-facing communications, and on-set talent/direction.
  • Ability to travel frequently (~3 times/month); must have a valid passport.

Benefits

J/PR offers a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Competitive base salary: $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and location
  • Commission opportunities
  • Eligibility for year-end discretionary bonus
  • Monthly Cell Phone Stipend
  • Company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401K with employer match
  • Accrued PTO
  • Birthday PTO
  • Flexible Release Fridays
  • Hotel trade with our world-class clients (complimentary stays across our entire portfolio)
  • Hybrid office schedule (2-3 days in office), Fridays remote
