Job description

Benefits:

Role: Holiday Lights Installer
Employer: Sparkle Squad
Location: Castle Rock
Compensation: $22-$40/hr + Tips
Job Type: Seasonal Full-Time & Part-Time
Season: October 1 – December 14 + January Takedowns
Seasonal position with the opportunity for year-round work.
We're hiring Holiday Lights Installers for our busiest season of the year. If you're comfortable on ladders and roofs, we'll teach you our Christmas-light installation system.
Top performers who want a year-round job will have the opportunity to stay with Sparkle Squad as Window Cleaning Technicians after the holiday season.
Make Great Money. Build Something Cool. Spread Some Christmas Cheer.
This is a short, busy season, and we’re looking for people who are ready to work.
From October through mid-December, our crews install professional Christmas light displays on homes and businesses throughout the area. You’ll spend your days outside, working with a crew, climbing ladders, walking roofs, solving problems, and turning ordinary houses into something families get excited to come home to.
It’s hard work, but it’s also a pretty fun job. You get to be part of people’s Christmas traditions and see the finished product light up at the end of the day.
Compensation
$22-$40+/hour
Our installers earn a percentage of the revenue from the jobs they complete. As you become faster, more skilled, and capable of handling more responsibility, your earning potential grows with you.
Earning around $22-$25/hour while learning our installation system is expected. Strong installers will have periods where they earn $30-$40/hour or more.
You also earn customer tips and $10 for every Google review you receive.
The goal is simple: work safely, build a great display, take care of the customer, and share in the value you help create.
Experience + Heights
You do not need previous professional Christmas light installation experience. We’ll teach you our system.
You do need to be comfortable with ladders and roofs before your first day.
Our installation season only lasts about 10 weeks, so we don’t have several months to help someone become comfortable with heights. If you’re already comfortable carrying and climbing extension ladders and walking on residential roofs, we can teach you the rest.
Safety comes first. We use professional equipment and safety gear and train our crews on how to work at heights safely. We want everyone working hard, making good money, and going home safely at the end of the day.
Who Does Well Here
This is a great fit for someone who wants to make extra money heading into the holidays and doesn’t mind working hard to do it.
You’ll probably enjoy this job if you:
  • Like being outside and staying active
  • Are already comfortable with ladders, roofs, and heights
  • Enjoy working with a crew
  • Like building things and seeing a finished product
  • Can take coaching and learn quickly
  • Are competitive and like working efficiently
  • Can solve problems without needing someone to tell you every next step
  • Show up when you say you will
You’ll be working on customers’ homes during an important time of year. We want installers who can have fun with the crew while still taking pride in the details.
This Probably Isn’t the Right Fit If…
This probably isn’t the right job if heights make you uncomfortable, you’ve never been comfortable on a roof, you can’t carry a 40–50 lb ladder, or you don’t want a physical outdoor job.
It also won’t work if you regularly show up late. October through December moves fast, and your crew needs to be able to count on you.
A Day in the Life
We typically meet at 8:00 AM in Castle Rock and head out from there.
Most days you’ll work with a crew installing custom Christmas light displays on residential homes. You may install roofline lights, wreaths, garland, trees, ground lighting, and other parts of the display.
Some projects take a few hours. Others can take most of the day.
You’ll climb ladders, work from roofs, carry equipment, troubleshoot lights, and figure out how to make each display look clean and professional.
Some days are beautiful Colorado fall days. Some days are cold. It’s physical work, and during our busiest weeks we move quickly.
Our favorite is seeing the lights turn on and how you impacted somebody's holidays.
Requirements
  • Must already be comfortable working on ladders and walking on residential roofs
  • Able to safely carry a 40–50 lb ladder
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation to Castle Rock
  • Comfortable working outside in changing fall and winter weather
  • Dependable and able to arrive on time
Schedule + Season
  • Installations run October 1 through December 14
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available
  • We work Monday-Saturday; no Sundays
  • Typical start time is 8:00 AM
  • Days vary based on the installation schedule and weather
  • Holiday light takedowns take place in January
This is a seasonal position, but it doesn’t have to end there. Installers who perform well and are looking for year-round work have the opportunity to stay with Sparkle Squad as a full-time Window Cleaning Technician after the holiday season.
If you want a seasonal job where you can work hard, make good money, spend your days outside, and help create a little Christmas magic along the way, we’d love to meet you.
