Staff Nurse (LPN or RN)

Residential Group Homes

Waystone is currently seeking a dedicated LPN or RN to provide medical care for Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As our staff nurse, you will support the wellbeing of 4 - 5 individuals in a group home setting by assisting with clinical assessments, administering medications, providing treatments, and educating direct support professional on personal care. Location: Haverhill, MA (Group home setting)

Part Time less than 25 hours per weekย 

This position is not benefit eligible.ย 

  • 8 Hours/week; Wednesday 3:00pm - 11:00pm (Haverhill, MA)
  • 1 Per diem position available (Haverhill, MA)ย 

Compensation range: This is a non-exempt position.

  • LPN: $32.00 - $38.30 per hour.
  • RN: $33.50 - $39.50 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications while on-site in the assigned home.
  • Perform daily health assessments for all assigned individuals.
  • Ensure safe and effective personal care, including bathing, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Provide skilled nursing care as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Train and support staff in:
    • Medical protocols
    • Personal care techniques
    • Specific treatments
    • Healthy lifestyle practices

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Accompany individuals on community outings and medical appointments.
  • Assess medical equipment for safety, functionality, and appropriateness.
  • Maintain and update medical records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Order medication and inventory when needed.
  • Review medication administration records and other medical documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts LPN or RN license in good standing
  • Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Organizational skills, computer literacy and the ability to document electronically.
  • The ability to travel within the service area of residential programs and medical appointments.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license in good standing and a minimum of one year of driving experience; must be able to drive wheelchair-accessible vans.
