What is a holding sign?

Holding sign jobs involve individuals standing in public areas, often on sidewalks or street corners, holding signs to advertise a business, event, or promotion. These positions are sometimes referred to as sign spinners or human billboards. The job may require the person to wave, dance, or spin the sign to attract more attention from passersby and drivers. It is a form of outdoor advertising that relies on human presence to increase visibility for the advertised message.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sign holder, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sign Holder, you need basic physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to follow simple instructions—no formal education or certification is typically required. Holding Sign workers often face challenges such as standing for extended periods, exposure to varying weather conditions, and maintaining visibility to passing traffic. Staying comfortable and safe involves wearing weather-appropriate clothing, taking regular breaks if permitted, and ensuring they are alert to their surroundings. It's also important to use clear, energetic movements to attract attention and communicate messages effectively, which can help maximize the impact of their role.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering both individual and group therapy within addiction treatment frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by an empathetic, non-judgmental approach to client interactions.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive therapeutic alliance with clients to foster trust and collaboration.
Preferred Experience
