Job description

Security Officer

A Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property of Watercolor HOA in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. They will secure the premises by permitting entry, patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points. They prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and procedures, and notifying local authorities of necessary incidents and emergencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of the HOA's residents and guests.
  • Patrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures and establish presence.
  • Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
  • Complete incident reports and required documentation.
  • Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing the HOA's premises.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy.
  • Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or persons on the HOA's property.
  • Monitor alarms, security cameras, and other surveillance equipment.
  • Investigate suspicious activity according to security policies and procedures.
  • Submit required daily reports according to security policies and procedures.
  • Enforce all Policies and Procedures as published by the company.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices through compliance with all company Environmental Health and Safety Policies
  • Perform other job assignments as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • One (1) year experience in security/guard/military/law-enforcement/corrections required.
  • Class D Florida Security license is required.
  • Experience in surveillance systems preferred.
  • Computing Skills: Windows Operating System, general use of Internet web sites and search tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with report writing.
  • Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk the perimeter of the HOA, and kneel.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop or crawl.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
