Part-Time/On-Call Administrative Assistant
This position is regularly scheduled to work Mondays, with additional as-needed/on-call hours to provide administrative coverage for vacations, absences, increased workload, or other operational needs. Additional hours will vary and are not guaranteed.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you a compassionate and detail-oriented professional looking for a meaningful part-time role? Heritage Funeral Home and Greenwood Memorial Terrace are seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support our team with essential administrative and service-related tasks. This position plays a key role in providing outstanding care to families while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This position is Mondays and On- Call As Needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Conservative business attire
  • Proper footwear (close-toed shoes)
  • No visible tattoos or facial piercings, maintain hair of a natural color
  • Receptionist Duties
  • Providing guests with information or find the appropriate person to give them information
  • Answer multi-line telephone; forward incoming calls (using the intercom); taking messages as necessary
  • Take and allocate "first calls"

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:?Will be required to work in an office setting with frequent need to stand, walk, sit, lift light objects. Must be able to lift 10 to 25 pounds without assistance and 25 to 75 pounds with assistance, sit or stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours). For an employee to succeed in this position they will need to be able to interact with coworkers in a supportive and collaborative manner; and interact with bereaved individuals and families in a time of mourning while maintaining optimum levels of compassion and professionalism. Must also be able to multitask regularly, work independently, adapt to changing policies and procedures, and contribute to problem-solving when needed.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS: This position requires the frequent use of, and familiarization with, computers, fax machines, multi-line phone systems, laminators, postage machines, email, copiers, printers, scanners, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:?
This position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent); 2 or more years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting and clerical experience. Background in Funeral home or customer service experience a must.
