Job description

The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC) a large publicly-owned wastewater treatment facility located in Newark, New Jersey, is currently seeking a Project Engineer. Created in 1902, PVSC is the 5th largest facility of its kind in the United States, directly serving approximately 1.4 million residents in 48 municipalities located in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties. The 140-acre plant is designed to treat an average of 330 million gallons per day (โ€œmgdโ€) of wastewater, with an annual average flow of approximately 241 mgd. Position Description: Will provide engineering services and technical support, including planning, design, inspection, construction management and contract administration, for projects involving the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission treatment plant and remote pump stations. Will design and implement project plans, communicate directly with contractors/designers concerning project costs, oversee staffing and scheduling, prepare project status reports, and monitor construction to ensure adherence to contract specifications. Will apply technical skills to undertake system PLC/HMI programming and commissioning for control systems utilizing Rockwell, Allen Bradley and Wonderware PLC's and HMI platforms.
