Sales Development Representative, Home Improvement

Upgrade

Atlanta, GA โ€ข Hybrid

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

Re-posted 5 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Run outbound prospecting by cold calling, emailing, and sequencing to book demos with home improvement contractors and merchants.

  • Qualify prospects by asking questions to understand fit and sharing relevant product information before handing off to Sales.

  • Build target lists with the team by researching accounts, developing outreach strategies, and maintaining the sales pipeline.

Job description

About the Role

Upgrade is building out our sales team for our home improvement financing business. We're looking for an SDR to help build that pipeline from the ground up.

You'll focus on getting home improvement contractors and merchants interested in offering consumer financing through Upgrade. This is a ground-floor role with a clear path forward. SDRs who perform here move into Account Executive roles as the team grows. You'll help shape how we prospect, who we target, and how we build this business.

If you want real ownership early in your sales career, backed by an established fintech, this is the role.

What You'll Do

  • Run outbound prospecting. You'll cold call, email, and sequence across multiple channels to book demos with home improvement contractors and merchants. Your goal is getting the right people in front of our AEs.
  • Qualify your prospects. You'll ask the right questions to understand fit and share relevant product context before handing off to Sales.
  • Build target lists with the team. You'll work with Sales and Customer Success to research accounts, develop outreach strategies, and keep the pipeline moving.
  • Set the standard. You'll help establish the habits and norms that define this team's culture as we grow.

What You Bring

  • Comfort with outbound. You're not put off by cold calling. You understand that volume and consistency drive results.
  • A desire to do more than hit a number. You want to contribute to how this team sells, not just execute a script.
  • Strong communication skills. You can build rapport quickly, ask good questions, and clearly explain why someone should take a meeting.
  • Adaptability. This is an early team. Things change. You adjust and keep moving.
  • A collaborative approach. You'll work closely with AEs and Customer Success and need to share information and stay aligned across the team.

Where This Role Goes

This is a direct path to an Account Executive role on this team. We're building from scratch, which means the SDRs who perform here are the first candidates we look at when we open AE seats. There's no ambiguity about that. Hit your numbers, contribute to how we build this thing, and you'll have a real shot at closing deals full-time.

What We Offer You:ย

  • Competitive salary and stock option plan
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance with employer paid options
  • Flexible PTO
  • Opportunities for professional growth and developmentย ย
  • Paid parental leave
  • Health & wellness initiatives
