Position Summary

Brave Christian High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School History Teacher who is committed to academic excellence and Christian discipleship. The History Teacher will provide engaging, standards-based instruction while integrating a biblical worldview into the study of history, government, economics, and related social sciences. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically, understand historical events through the lens of faith, and develop as responsible Christian leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Plan and deliver effective, engaging instruction in high school history and social studies courses, including subjects such as U.S. History, Ancient World, World History, Government, Civics, and Economics.

● Integrate Christian values and a biblical worldview into curriculum, instruction, and classroom discussions.

● Create lesson plans, assessments, and learning activities aligned with school and state academic standards.

● Encourage critical thinking, historical analysis, research, and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives.

● Utilize primary and secondary sources to help students develop historical inquiry and analytical skills.

● Assess student learning through assignments, projects, presentations, tests, and other evaluation methods.

● Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student progress.

● Differentiate instruction to meet the educational needs of diverse learners.

● Establish and maintain a classroom environment that reflects Christian character, mutual respect, and academic excellence.

● Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration regarding academic progress and student development.

● Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the school's educational and spiritual mission.

● Knowledge of secondary-level history and social studies curriculum.

● Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

● Ability to integrate faith and learning across all aspects of instruction.

● Previous teaching experience at the high school level.

● Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP), dual-enrollment, honors, or college-preparatory courses.
