Job description

St. Mary Parish, located in Annapolis, Maryland, seeks qualified candidates for a Bilingual Hispanic Administrative Assistant. In this part-time position, you will assist with the administrative needs of the Evangelization Team (Family Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, and Sacramental Preparation). Candidates must be fluent in both English and Spanish, in both written and verbal communication.
This is a 10-hour-per-week, non-benefit-eligible position requiring evening and weekend hours. This position reports to the Director of Hispanic Ministry & Religious Education.
Essential Functions
Act as the main liaison between parishioners and the Evangelization Team.
  • Respond to and follow up on program inquiries.
  • Maintain required records.
  • Create, review, and translate documents.
  • Accept and record program payments.
  • Be available for a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and/or weekends.

Position Qualifications
To be considered in this role, you should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher).
  • Experience with database management.
  • Ability to learn and implement new software quickly.
  • Must be a practicing Catholic and a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with social media, graphic design, and email marketing platforms (such as Flock Notes and Constant Contact), etc.

Pay Rate: $17.00, Hourly
