Job description

Trinity Industries, Inc. is hiring a Career Welder Night Shift at our Fort Worth, TX plant!
Our products are an integral part of the supply chain that helps fuel our lives and our economy. Over the last 85 years, Trinity Industries has grown to over 6,000 employees strong with the common purpose of Delivering Goods, For the Good of All .
As a Welder at Trinity, you'll apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, automatic welding, and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. You will use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders and uses manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment.
What you'll do:
  • Hand weld in all positions, fillet and groove
  • Perform repairs to subassemblies for final product
  • Perform oxy-fuel welding
  • Perform carbon arc welding
  • Conduct one or two NDE tests
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What you'll need:
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience
  • Experience with MIG and FCAW is required
  • FCAW (2G, 3G & 4G)
  • Ability to weld out of position (vertical & overhead)
  • May require working above ground (15 ft or more)
  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects and comfortable with heights
  • May require working in narrow or confined work space for extended periods of time
  • Tasks may require physical strength and dexterity
  • May require extensive kneeling, bending and standing for long periods of time
