Job description

The company's product portfolio encompasses Prescription Safety, Lenscare, Eyewear Accessories, Lab & Dispensing, Ocular Surface, Exam Supplies, and Vision Testing.
Hilco Vision has a state-of-the-art facility in Fairfield, Ohio! We are currently searching for Packaging Operators to join the team! The Packager, Towelettes is responsible monitoring pre-moistened towelettes being manufactured by machine, inspecting these products for quality, and hand-packaging them in accordance to Hilco Vision's quality standards. The shift for this role is 6:30am - 3:00pm and requires the ability to lift 20lbs, stand for long periods of time, and complete repetitive motions.

Qualifications:
  • Adhere to all organizational safety practices including following appropriate procedures, as well as the proper wearing of required PPE in designated areas
  • Attention to detail and processes in order to reach a common goal of producing a great product for all customers
  • Able to utilize a computer w/ MS Window Systems and web-based applications
  • Read, write, speak and understand English in order to comprehend specification sheets for customer orders and complete quality sheets
  • Learn new processes and procedures -- willing to jump in and help, as well as learn more skills in order to grow
  • 1 - 3 years of related production experience

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor machine production for pre-moistened towelette wipes, folding boxes for each job
  • Visually inspect the quality of product for leaks, correct alignment, artwork, and all other defects.
  • Verify the weight of finished product using the scales provided to ensure accurate volume of liquid is being applied to the wipe and the correct number of wipes are packed in the box.
  • Refer to order specification sheets to ensure product is properly packed, all labeling is properly applied, and all labels contain accurate information.
  • Perform other department and job-related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
  • This role requires the ability to lift 20 - 40lbs, standing for long periods of time, and moving quickly

Incentive Plan:
  • Attendance- Employee must have worked 85% (148 hours) of the working days in a given month for the home department earning the incentive.
  • Productivity- Must have efficiency more than 85% minimum for the month.
  • Violations- If an employee receives a write up due to a policy violation or quality issue, they will not be eligible for the incentive for that month.
  • Employment- Must be a full time Hilco employee for more than 30 days. The employee must be actively employed on the date of the incentive payout to receive it.
